The Molteni Group inaugurates its first Molteni&C Flagship Store in Finland, demonstrating the group’s continual expansion on the contemporary design scene. The opening of this Molteni&C store is the culmination of a partnership established over 15 years ago with Blomer, a major brand in Finland that provides industry professionals—architects and designers—and the end user with services that stand out for their great dedication, knowhow, experience and design taste, specialising in high end turnkey projects.
The Flagship Store offers a spectacular experience in pure Molteni&C style, showcasing some of the most recent Molteni&C collections and its iconic pieces, created thanks to collaboration with major international designers and architecture firms, including Vincent Van Duysen, the Belgian architect and designer who has been Creative Director of the brand since 2016. An elegant, graceful, homely showroom that offers visitors the chance to experience a series of fabulous room settings, including five kitchen displays.
Starting with the entrance, where they are welcomed by two displays: on the one side, Intersection, a Molteni&C Kitchen designed by the creative director and, on the other, the first living area. The Half a Square table by Michael Anastassiades, accompanied by Janet chairs by Vincent Van Duysen make way for a bedroom that includes, among other furnishings, the Azul bed by Nicola Gallizia and an elegant Gliss Master composition, the wardrobe system that is the feather in the cap of Molteni&C’s night Collection.
There are plenty of reissues by Molteni&C of pieces by Gio Ponti, like the D.154.2 armchair and the D.754.1 rug, icons from the Heritage Collection.
The textural path inside the store continues, alternating living, dining and night zones featuring furnishings from collections that embody the highest expression of Italian savoir-faire.
Pieces by Van Duysen include the Paul and Gregor sofas, the Hector bookcase, and the Janet and Elain seatings. Furnishings also include the Gatwick and Diamond tables by Rodolfo Dordoni and Patricia Urquiola respectively, the 505UP open systems by Nicola Gallizia and Barbican and Piccadilly seatings by Dordoni.
Molteni&C | Outdoor
The journey into the universe of fine materials continues on the lower floor, which houses the first collection designed by Molteni&C|Outdoor, coordinated by Vincent Van Duysen and interpreted by some of the most important designers: from Foster + Partners to Ron Gilad, Gio Ponti and Luca Meda. For this collection, Van Duysen delved into the rich tradition of Italian design and surfaced with a collection defined by an innate sense of savoir-faire, a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, and a deep respect for heritage. The Landmark Collection features a highly anticipated reissue of famed designer Luca Meda’s classic Palinfrasca Sofa, a marvel of Italian savoir-faire and fine craftsmanship. Timeout Collection presents an elegant offering of outdoor essentials inspired by the smooth forms of Modernist architecture. The Heritage Collection comprises a reissue of two of Gio Ponti’s most beloved armchairs, and two exceptional standalone pieces from Foster + Partners and Ron Gilad, Arc table and Pannacotta small table, dialog seamlessly with the collection as a whole.
